Hello, I stumbled across your blog from the Russell Davies blog a couple of weeks ago. I really like the concept of Flaming Desks and if you'd like I might be able to help you give it some more exposure. I edit Velocity, the inflight magazine for VLM Airlines, the biggest airline flying out of London City Airport. I'd be very interested in running a piece on the practice of launching a business transparently, and the whole idea of people needing a desk in a city for one or two days at a time is right up my street.

Let me know what you think and hopefully we can get something together,

Steve.

I love the idea... NICE. I probably haven't read everything on this blog so you have probably covered this, but what sort of safety aspects will be built in... I don't want anyone downloading child porn on my internet connection and I presume there will also be a rating system for people wanting space with things like: body odor, sense of humor, coffee/tea making abilities etc... you know.. the important stuff.
I love this idea and I think its brilliant internationally... to be able to grab a desk for a day when you might be in another country is awesome.

I love this idea boys! As Kev says it would be difficult to share desks at some places... but I reckon if we got the 'facilities police' on side then we could possibly sort something out! there are a good few empty desks that it would be nice to share :-)

Super duper idea. Nice one!

love the idea and am with the 75% of selfish bastards who want to take but not give. Seriously though, for us corporate denizens we don't have the ability to share our stuff without going through the facilities police, and you just know where that's going to end up.

Random thought, use the responses you get from companies to create a "friendliness" index - the ones who are willing to share are really nice people who deserve to be recognized; the rest, well I know your creative talents so will leave you to decide...
