Initial Logo Ideas

Below, is a hand picked selection of the initial logos I’ve had a bash at.

More focussed on form and style rather than colours at the moment, it would be great to hear everyone’s thoughts before taking it any further.

The typeface itself probably needs more exploration, however I do really like the main one I’ve used and think it works nicely with the adapted ‘M’.

Hopefully these initial ideas will spark off some more chat about where to take it from here.

(For reference, my favourite design so far is the top left logo on page 4) I think that the more stylized flames work best when seen small on the screen and as page 3 illustrates, they work nicely as a stand alone image too.

    Nice!

I’m not going to even attempt to say which I like best. (Unhelpful, know!)

Personally, I think that once you do your ritual desk burning event thing, and you’ve got loads of photos and some video to work with, that we could have a photographic identity. Sounds odd, I know, but everyone has a graphic logo, don’t they?

Why can’t ours be a 1 second repeated desk-on-fire GIF thing?!

The logos on the second page are doing the most for me. I think potentially because there’s some depth to them. One of my favourite logos recently has been the Silverback app from ClearLeft. The logo was designed by John Hicks who also did the Firefox logo.

I love the way the flames are licking the letters on the lower one - I’d like to see some development of this, perhaps with one or two letters, or even revisiting the desk - perhaps “3d” flames (= flames with depth!) licking a stylised desk? I like the fonts on the 1st and 3rd on the second page too.

They’re all kinda good. I think the more minimal ones are a kinda 2.0 version that you should save for when you’re famous and like - 2.0 ish

I like the 2nd page logos too. Have you thought about having the flames shooting out from one side? I think this would bring a whole new element of speed and more of a ‘hot-rod’ feel to the whole thing. I have in my head the ‘hot wheels’ logo from little cars I had when I was a nipper. http://www.hotwheels.com/

PS. Yeah that Silverback illustration is nice! You can definitely see the similarity in style with that and his Firefox logo too.
